I'm on a quest to actually post on this blog. I'm sucking terribly. I lurk way too much in the whole fashion blogging scope, and I believe it's time to actually do something to become a part of it.
I'm not a model nor am I tall/thin enough to ever be.
I'm not photogenic (at all).
I cannot afford designer anything nor am I inspired by any particular age/style.
So all in all I'm a terrible candidate for this whole fashion blog universe.
But dammit I'm gonna do it! I'm unique, awkward, sometimes much too wordy, a literature teacher living nowhere remotely impressive, with a froo froo dog, a camera, and a ridiculous collection of clothing from every walk of life that needs to be styled and used!
I'm getting bored and need a creative outlet.
World here I come!
By the way, I'm very nice albeit sometimes blunt. Talk to me. Ask me anything. I'm atypical in today's society:
I smile.

the switch!
so if anyone has actually noticed, all the posts before this have the exact same date. That happened because I started a tumblr account, but have realized that most of the blogs I follow are here on blogspot, so here I am now!
I decided to do it early on because it would be easy to update this new blog to the point where I was.
Thanks for reading and I hope I continue to bring you back to this page!

Billie Piper as Fanny Price??
Billie as Belle in Secret Diary of a Call Girl
Piper as Fanny Price
The sensitive, frail, and very unusual Austen heroine, Fanny Price.
Something about men in these old jackets that just strikes my fancy! These are dashing fellows!!
I was rather amused to find out that Billie Piper played the role of Fanny Price in a film portrayal of Jane Austen's novel Mansfield Park. Reason being that I know Piper best in her role as Belle in Secret Diary of a Call girl. I think she's beautiful, but I've seen her as a seductive, confident, beautifully dressed call girl and had some trouble picturing her as the reserved, overemotional Fanny of Mansfield.
I haven't actually seen this film, but chances are I'm going to go on a search soon to find it. I'm curious to see what type of portrayal Piper will give of Fanny. There's something about Austen heroines that has never ceased to captivate me. Each one is so different, so proper, so utterly non-feminist in many ways, and at the same time they're all so confident, romantic, and the epitome of female romantics. Not to mention they have some killer gowns to wear!

christmas 2009 in a nutshell
Probably my favorite of all the pictures we took for Christmas this year. There's just so much going on and the staging also fills it with emotion. It's the representation of the heart of Christmas to me.
